Franklyns Jewellers & Goldsmiths Ltd was established in 1996 at 8 Market Street, Halifax in the unit previously held by Backhouses Outfitters. The business was founded by Richard Franklyn who continues to own and run the business to the present day.
Originally many of Backhouses original storage and fittings were kept by ourselves including the Backhouses mosaic in the entrance to the shop. However in 2007 with most of the original fittings in a state of disrepair or no longer practical we decided to give to shop a fresh new look and had a major re-fit, including having our own Franklyns mosaic made for the entrance. At Franklyns we always have and continue to pride ourselves on having our workshop onsite and in full view so our customers can see the work we carry out. This enables us to carry out fast, quality repairs and helps us to manufacture individual pieces that are value for money.
On the premises we have four Working Jewellers and two qualified diamond graders and make up 95% of our diamond rings onsite enabling us to keep our quality high but our costs low. For more in depth information on the services and products we offer please refer to our Services & Products section.
